Verdict

CARLTON SCROOP didn't fare too badly on his second outing since joining Tony Carroll over a trip that would have been on the short side for him and it's reasonable to expect better now that he's stepped back up in distance on a track where he's won three of his eight starts. He is rated 9lbs lower than when winning in March and has the services of a leading apprentice in Kieren Fox so everything looks to be in place for a big run. Two Oclock John returned to form last time and may be ready to strike but Josr's Magic has struggled here in the past and looks worth opposing as a result with the likes of Nom De La Rosa and Dovedon Angel making more appeal as each-way alternatives.
