Richard Hannon operates at a near one in four strike rate in claimers over the past five years and that strike rate improves to near one in three for this age group from a healthy pool. Therefore, it seems reasonable to side with LEAN MACHINE who has shown next to nothing on his last two starts but has every chance at these weights and may be able to bounce back on his all-weather debut. Fonterutoli has to be feared for a yard that does well here whilst the booking of Kieren Fallon for Sabatini takes the eye and Jeff Pearce's charge has no concerns with regard to her well-being as she has run well in similar contests the last twice. Wise Up didn't run badly in a seven furlong maiden at this track last time and also comes under consideration as he drops in grade.
