    Verdict

Defying a penalty in bumpers is a tough ask but BETTY BALOO (NAP) and Tom Midgley could not have done so more easily at Hexham and the Easterby mare can repeat the feat now. The likeliest danger is Starlyte, not only because she receives 13lb without riders' allowances taken into account but also because she shaped with definite promise on debut in a decent-looking Huntingdon bumper. First Glance looks an interesting point-to-point recruit and is next best with Gan Canny a newcomer to note.
