In depth

Verdict

Doune Castle, placed once in 16 starts under both codes, returned from a break last time to post an eye-catching effort when fourth in a Downpatrick hurdle and was then subject to a steward's enquiry regarding the riding of the horse. Noel Kelly has booked the promising William Marshall here as his gelding steps up notably in trip. It may also be worth checking out stablemate Thimbleweed while James Bowen is booked for the dual Flat winner. Lissen To The Lady. The latter is enjoying a fine run of form and this month's course winner still appeals as well treated and should be on the premises but LULU BALOO was a major improver when a smooth Hexham scorer in a manner suggesting there is much more to come.
