Tipsy Mouse blotted his copybook when falling in the Eider Chase at Newcastle last month but has claims on earlier form at Haydock, however, preference is for another last time out faller Mr Woodentop, who gets the nod over Mac Hine. The selection is normally a reliable jumper so it came as a surprise when the son of Roselier fell her last month. His form when winning at Carlisle in November looks good enough and, off just a 5lb higher mark, he still looks well treated for a race that should bring his stamina into play. Mac Hine has gone up 6lbs for winning here last time but this looks tougher and of more interest may be Alan Parker's Harlov, who is a thorough stayer. Martin Todhunter's Tarbolton Moss comes here fresher than most and warrants respect along with Mary Reveley's two representatives Robbo and Malek. Not surprisingly, for the money, this is a competitive looking contest but Mr Woodentop has stamina in abundance and, provided that his jumping holds up, he could give backers a good run for their money.
