In depth
Verdict
Shantou Village often attracts market support, as he did in a veterans’ chase at Newbury three weeks ago, but his losing run stretches back to August 2018. Claud And Goldie has the subsequent Cheltenham winner Vintage Clouds back in third when successful here last month. Duc De Grissay was a disappointing favourite that day and Crixus's Escape was pulled up and Sandy Forster’s 12-year-old should be in the firing-line again. Red Infantry was back to his best in the Grimthorpe at Doncaster and stays really well but Didero Vallis is hard to catch right. DANDY DAN has been waiting for the ground to dry out and has run well in both previous starts over course and distance. He has a good overall strike-rate, which he can enhance today even though Kitty's Light is interesting back over fences.
