Mr Mercurial beat Black River by 15 lengths at Perth and arrives in peak form but this is no easy task conceding weight all round, though Will Ramsay claims 7lb. Shimla Dawn was a well-beaten third in this last year and the likes of Streets Of Milan and Racing Pulse look worth opposing but Wayupinthesky is worth a second look as Noel George partnered last year’s winner. CAVE HUNTER has already won this twice and has beaten Pena Dorada in a match since pulled up at Hexham when let down by his jumping. If he is more fluent, Wendy Hamilton’s 12-year-old has decent prospects.
