In depth

Verdict

Vintage Clouds has a touch of class but does most of his winning at Haydock and has had a wind op since last seen. Claud And Goldie goes well here and finished second over 3m2f on his reappearance. He ran well for a long way at Haydock subsequently and can’t be ignored. Quick Wave probably produced a career best when skating up at Catterick while Crixus's Escape won here on heavy ground last year and was also successful at Ayr in November. DUC DE GRISSAY is a genuine mud-lover who scored over track and trip last March. He was alongside the eventual winner when blundering and unseating his rider at the last over 4m here last time and, though 8lb higher, should have more to offer over fences.
