A pretty ordinary handicap hurdle, in which few are in form and can be given a genuine chance. Mister Chisum is likely to be a warm order after back to back wins at Ayr and Newcastle in the past month, but a 7lb penalty for his latest success will make it very difficult for him to complete the hat-trick now. Brave Effect is dropping down the ratings and he could come into calculations off this mark on this ground, while Mr Midaz has got the decent ground he loves and did nothing wrong in scoring at Sedgefield last time, though an 8lb higher mark should find him out here. It is always a bit of a risky proposition trying to catch one right when it is on the down grade, but we will take a chance here with Noshinannikin, who has been as high as 119 in the past, but races here off a mark of just 95. Showing some sort of a return to form behind the useful Stormy Lord at Wetherby last time, the gelding will relish trip and ground and the addition of first time headgear could just do the trick.
