Verdict

RICKETY GATE obliged at Carlisle for a first success in the style of a horse open to further improvement from his current handicap mark. He's been upped 7lb for that win and is taken to follow up here on ground he should handle. Golan Cloud is unexposed and has a first start since the end of May. The market may well reflect his chance but it's worth noting that his yard has been in form this week. Silk Or Scarlet is back from a break too and is not discounted, likewise his stable companion, the consistent Manetti. The jury is out on Stoney Rover on his comeback run and just a second start for Sandy Thompson but it would be wrong to rule him out despite topweight.
