held up towards rear, headway halfway, chased winner approaching 7th, mistake 4 out, soon ridden, no chance with winner from 2 out
in touch, pushed along after 6th, ridden next, weakening and beaten when blundered 2 out
This looks a pretty tight handicap with all the runners looking to have a chance if running up to their best. Robbo, following a spell chasing, returned to hurdling last time out beating some useful performers at Newcastle. Hugo De Perez had shown a consistent level of form before refusing to race last time out but he will be suited by the ground and has the ability to run well here for his in-form trainer. Caesar's Palace is a credit to his trainer and is the TEAMtalk selection to land this before moving onto better things. Suited by any surface, he was unlucky last time out at Ayr (outpaced at a crucial time) and should have improved for that outing. What A Wonder mixed chasing with hurdling last season showing an aptitude for both. His win in an amateur race at Perth in April represented decent form though with his trainer out of form at present he may be worth avoiding here. Johnston's Art is another running for an out-of-form stable and although capable (mainly on faster ground than this) he may be worth taking on here.
