Aztec Prince receives the tentative vote ahead of Jallastep and Seymar Lad. The locally trained runner is yet to experience anything this fast as far as ground is concerned but on collateral lines of form, a third at Newcastle would be enough to put him with a decent chance in what is a competitive race. Jallastep was making a return to racing after a sizeable absence so there is every reason to believe that the Perth specialist could have come on for that experience. Seymar Lad has ability but has consented not to go through with it when it matters. A drop in trip is taken in order to break a losing run. Yankee Holiday doesn't have too many miles in the clock although his better efforts have obtained on a faster surface. Insurgent was scheduled to take his chance on Sunday so is a likely absentee. Baligrundle was backed at Ayr last time out and could be of interest off a basement BHB rating. Ex-Sir Mark Prescott runner, Annibale Caro, is watched in the market. A difficult race for punters with plenty of guesswork required and Aztec Prince is chanced at the likely odds.
