In depth

Verdict

This will almost certainly revolve around how two noteworthy newcomers make the transition to hurdling. Dan Skelton introduces Allihies, a juvenile scorer in Ireland in 2021, and a gelding with fair handicap form last season for the Coleman yard. In many ways it's quite a surprise to see Captain Kane make his hurdling debut too as the gelding enjoyed a tremendous time of things on the Flat last year when racking up no less than seven successes, which saw his official rating soar from 48 to 86. Maybe connections feel there's little scope for further progression on the level, hence the move to timber. He's an obvious one to consider but ELOGIO impressed when landing an Aintree bumper in November for Richard Bandey and rates an interesting hurdling debutant after moving to Tom Lacey.
