It was quite a close call here between Marathea, High Gear and End Of An Error, but the vote went to Marathea, with Wimbledonian getting the best of the rest tag.. Now, Sundawn Lady finished ahead of Coppermalt last time, but was inclined to hang to her left in the straight. However, the pair of them finished behind Marathea that day. The last-named should hold the pair again, although an eight-pound rise for what was a narrow win will make things harder. That said, she has to be given every consideration today. Wimbledonian has a squeak based on his Newton Abbot form in May, while End Of An Error was still in contention when unseating rider two out in the race won by Marathea that has been referred to. With a clear round, you couldn't rule him out. Finally, there is no doubt that High Gear holds leading claims if fully focussed on the job in hand. He scored over fences at Southwell last time and reverts to hurdling here, and you might have some anxious moments if taking a short price. With L'Orage Lady having shown modest form in her last three after showing earlier promise, we return to the selection, which is Marathea.
