Verdict

It's hard to fancy Toast And Jam and The Society Man racing from out of the handicap but Petit Ecuyer is well treated nowadays and should give Page Fuller a good ride. Pandy Wells won over a shorter trip here on Boxing Day but made mistakes and was pulled up when favourite at Stratford earlier this month. SMARTMAX was also a beaten favourite on his latest start, at Southwell in December. But he was only beaten a short-head on his chasing debut over 3m at Warwick earlier and the form of that contest has worked out well – he deserves another chance.
