Verdict

A competitive race in which Obay, Rash Moment and the well named Easter Present are among the more likelier winners and it is to the first named that we offer our vote. A fair middle-distance type for Ed Dunlop, it has taken Brendan Powell some time to iron out any training troubles with this son of Kingmambo. If this were a handicap, he would be giving away lumps of weight to his rivals so at these terms, it is difficult to find many reasons to oppose him. Rash Moment has not quite been able to reproduce his form behind Pole Star at Doncaster. If he is in the mood, he should go close. Easter Present has been sent off as favourite on six of his seven starts thus far and has only landed the one start in bumper company. He has been getting outpaced over shorter trips so the decision to go over further was academic. Monsieur Georges regularly runs well in races of this nature without winning. He has place claims. The remainder look to have plenty to do on all racecourse evidence. This looks to concern the top three or four in the market and Obay is selected in the hope that he stays the trip and can utilise his obvious flat speed.
