A wide open maiden gets proceedings underway and as usual in these types of events the market will be all important but the principals look to be All Ivory, Plectrum and Councellor and the tentative vote is given to the last named. The selection gained plenty of experience last year and was a fair second on his last run behind Grosvenor Square. That represents solid form and from what looks a good draw he will be hard to beat. All Ivory rates the main danger is a well bred half brother to Marine and will not need to be anything special to take a hand in the finish. Plectrum is another that catches the eye on breeding and hails from a yard that does well in this sphere so he should be noted in the market. Of the remainder Coup d'Etat is another that has shown a modicum of ability but looks vunerable to a less exposed type and in a race where the market may well tell all for the winner we return to Councellor .
