In depth

Verdict

Orfeo Conti is the pick in this race with Toni Alcala and Different Class feared. The selection ran an encouraging second to Gentle John at Ludlow in January and has to go down as a rare summer jumper for Henrietta Knight. He shaped as if a step up in trip would suit and having already campaigned over similar trips in the past in France, he gets the vote. Toni Alcala seems something of a reformed character these days. That said, he was put in his place by Wenger last time out. Different Class has won on the ground albeit two years ago. Zirkel has to be respected from the Alan King stable while Bergerac probably needs further than this but is nevertheless watched in the market. Orfeo Conti gets the nod.
