In depth

Verdict

Alfie's Sun is a capable performer but the eight-year-old has not looked a natural over the larger obstacles and a safer bet looks to be Henry's Pride, who gets the vote over Glimmer of Light. The last mentioned looked beaten when unseating his rider late on last time but that was under testing conditions and he cannot be ruled out on earlier form when winning at Ludlow. Stoney Drove is less exposed than most of these but is hard to back on all known form, while Edgar Wilde has given little cause of optimism so far. The vote then goes to Henry's Pride, who was good value for his win a novices' race last time and he looks worth a chance to follow up that success.
