In depth

Verdict

Ballito is the selection over the likes of Primitive Way, Tee-Jay and Another Promise. Ballito seems to enjoy his rare trips over from Ireland, having scored at Ludlow last October, and he was a fair second at Sedgefield last month. That was the first time that Richard Johnson had sat on him, and with this longer trip to help, the partnership can come good. Primitive Way is a bit long in the tooth now, but did win over the course-and-distance three years ago, and will be all the better for a summer break. It is hard to enthuse about him, but Tee-Jay has won four times here in the past, and is set to run another big race on a track he obviously loves. Another Promise has topweight to overcome on his return, but the new partnership of Ferdy Murphy and Graham Lee should be followed this season. For the winner we return to Ballito.
