Verdict
Recent winning form is thin on the ground but this could be a decent opportunity for Lucinda Russell's topweight, BESCOT SPRINGS (NAP), who returns to hurdling for the first time since February when performing really well in coming home a close third behind Madame Lilibet at Carlisle. That run came on soft ground but his most recent victory was delivered on the forecast good ground. He sets a decent standard here on that evidence and can return to winning ways. Castley Lane does look rather harshly treated on achievements to date and greater danger may emanate from the Harrison pair, Solway Sam and Willie Hall. Both have already tasted success over this track and it's the former who makes most appeal of the two as he displayed plenty of strong form last season on good ground and Ryan Day is well worth his useful 7lb claim.
