Verdict

Tim Vaughan did really well to produce former pointer Midnight Diamond ready to do the business this month at Fakenham on the gelding's first run under Rules for over three years. The race did rather fall apart and he's up 8lb for the win but most of that is offset by his young rider's claim. He may well follow up against primarily out-of-sorts opponents but this might just be the day that FORESTSIDE gets his head in front over fences at the 27th time of asking. He's woefully devoid of pace but his best chase form has come at this track and a repeat of his latest effort, a close third to Mister Wall Street here nine days ago, would see him go close. Course winner Solis is also respected and is next best along with Solway Dornal.
