By the use of claimer Harry Haynes, trainer James Ewart looks to have given BISHOPS HEIR the potential to land a second bumper despite his penalty, while Papa Caruso, Montoya's Son and Western Sahara can all go well. The selection took a similar Newcastle contest in fine style back in January and went close to following up under the extra 7lbs next time. This will be his last run in this sphere before a switch to hurdles and provided he acts on good ground first time he looks too strong for them. Papa Caruso showed up well when runner-up at Bangor last time on good ground. He should be able to build on that today and is respected. Mick Easterby's Western Sahara stayed on when it was a little too late on his Kelso debut last weekend and should be much better for the experience, so check out the market for stable confidence. Altan Khan is another worth a check in the betting, coming from a yard that has a good record in bumpers, while Montoya's Son is another who fits that profile and made a quiet Perth debut in the spring, from which he should benefit today. One for the notebook, but Bishops Heir can put his superior experience to good use with another win.
