In depth

Verdict

Brook No Argument is the solid form choice in this uninspiring bumper, General Ledger and Jimivy Gunner look to be the best alternatives. The selection made a very pleasing debut at Newcastle last month. She only tried in the closing stages when runner up to Flora May. The experience will not be lost on her and she can go one better this afternoon. General Ledger didn't show too much on his first start, but is nicely bred and we may see a better performance on this faster ground. There are a couple of interesting newcomers in Timetwogo and Jimivy Gunner and the market will give clues to their relative chances. However Jimivy Gunner appears the best on paper and is from a yard noted for having plenty of talent in this sphere. It doesn't seem to be that strong a race though and with normal improvement Brook No Argument should be capable of landing first prize.
