In depth

Verdict

This tricky contest may fall to San Peire, with Thatlldoforme and Imtihan put forward as the main rivals. Howard Johnson's gelding hasn't set the world alight this campaign, but has strong claims on the pick of last season's form. He was successful over a longer trip at Sedgefield this time last year and may now be ready to strike. Thatlldoforme looked on the way back last time out when finishing an excellent second behind Storymaker at Newcastle. There could be more to come and he will be difficult to keep out of the money. Imtihan has put in three solid efforts in good enough company to warrant plenty of respect. Meanwhile General Duroc has a squeak on the pick of his past form. However San Peire is well treated on his best form and looks the best option.
