Pop Gun was good value for his win at Chepstow earlier this month but that was under testing conditions and, on this surface, the eight-year-old may struggle under his penalty with preference for Heisse, who gets the vote ahead of Mr Ex. The last mentioned is less exposed than most of these but would probably prefer a softer surface and maybe a shorter trip so may be best watched. Plumpton winner Left Hand Drive has his favoured ground but does have a penalty to carry that may anchor him, while Investment Wings has given little cause for optimism of late. Diafa is capable but inconsistent and a better bet looks to be Heisse, who has trip and ground to suit.
