BLACK JACARI is given the vote to get his head in front at last at the expense of Sydney Sling and Stow. The selection is sporting blinkers for the first time to aid his chances of success. He was rated as high as 85 on the flat suggesting he is more than capable of being competitive in hurdle races. He has not been beaten far on all three of his hurdle runs to date finishing second on each occasion. That said he has started to become a frustrating horse to follow and connections have come to the conclusion that head gear is the answer. If they do sharpen him up he should be good enough to break his hurdling maiden tag. Sydney Sling was nowhere near as good on the level but won first time of asking over hurdles at Fakenham. He will find it tougher now with his penalty however and may do better in handicaps. Stow was a fair handicapper on the level with a top rating of 78. Venetia Williams has her team of horses in fine fettle at present and he therefore is worth noting in the betting market on his hurdles debut. But for the winner we return to Black Jacari.
