Verdict

Jockey Aidan Coleman gets on well with NATIONAL PETITION and the partnership is taken to follow up their recent Folkestone success, for which they come here unpenalised. Trip and ground suit the Venetia Williams-trained gelding, who stuck on gamely to claim Alderbrook Girl at the Kent track last week. He jumps well and carries a very light racing weight here so we are happy to side with him. Will The Till represents the in-form Evan Williams and the six-year-old is becoming a victim of his own consistency, now 13lbs higher than his most recent success, with four subsequent frame finishes meaning that the handicapper keeps putting him up. He is a genuine sort for whom trip and ground hold no fears and he can go close. Methodical was a recent course and distance winner who seems to go on any ground, and although this is tougher than that claiming chase success she has to be respected. Trip and ground suit Potts Of Magic, who is 3lbs higher than his best winning mark. Richard Lee's charge is generally consistent, but he does tend to find one too good and the same may be the case again today. Jean Le Poisson represents a yard that can do little wrong this campaign. He will relish the ground but was out of sorts at Newbury last time and you are really gambling on the skills of maestro Nicky Henderson to have him right four weeks on if you want to take the plunge. Little else makes appeal and we will side with National Petition.
