In depth

Verdict

There is little between Aircon and Bit O Magic on their run here two weeks ago and if White In Front had not fallen at two out he would be similarly weighted. However, despite a poor reappearance run at Bangor recently TEAMtalk side with Venetia Williams' Needwood Lion to put that run behind him and prove he has the necessary ability to turn his good hurdle form to success over the larger obstacles. He showed at the backend of last season that he had ability over fences finishing a good second in a decent race at Perth. If running up to that form he should go close for an in-form stable. Barren Lands has yet to prove he can act as well over fences but if he has been schooled well over the summer he stands an excellent chance on ground he will relish. Michigan Blue will strip fitter for his recent seasonal reappearance and showed last term he was a capable performer on a rain-softened surface.
