Great Ovation has proved expensive to follow but he is favoured at the weights in relation to Caper and Altitude Dancer. Richard Phillips charge had to contend with a runaway leader last week when Tizi Ouzou landed a prize at Taunton. He seems to run well here and this should produce a long overdue win for his weary backers. Caper is an interesting sort in that this is very much the right grade. The trip is something of an imponderable but Reg Hollinshead's stable have finally managed to end a long losing run in recent days. Altitude Dancer looks harshly handicapped these days on all racecourse evidence. He was well held at Catterick on his most recent start and connections must be hoping that a step up in trip can bring about a change in fortunes. St Jerome has not been running well of late so his BHB figure should arguably be taken with a pinch of salt. Polish Rhapsody has shown little in banded stakes races and is likely to find stamina issues on a first start over hurdles. Great Ovation gets our selection.
