Not much to go on here with the market telling its own tale. Alcopop's second to Dark Character should be good enough to win this if the debutantes are not up to much and we will nominate him as our selection. As a son of Alderbrook, he should be blessed with a bit of speed and he showed a likeable attitude in that Bangor contest. Our hopes for him have been greatly increased by the victory of third-placed Rambling Minster in a bumper at Hexham on Wednesday. Robin Dickin has sent out a number of winners of late and he is represented by Kariblue. A useful conditional is aboard and the market is watched copiously. Alderburn hails from a stable that has sent out four winners in the last fortnight and is another to keep a close eye on. Allume will only run if there is overnight rain. The breeding suggests that one who should relish the conditions is Emanate and it is interesting that Christian Williams will be in the plate. Alcopop is the selection.
