In a race in which most can be ruled out, Lord Alyn is a tentative choice to beat Bachelors Pad and Reflex Blue. Bumper winner Lord Alyn has a bit more scope than most of these, and was going as well as anything until finding the hill at Towcester too much last time. Back on a more kinder track, he can deliver a telling effort, and is taken to beat some exposed sorts in a weak contest. Reflex Blue was a winner on the Flat for John Hills two years ago, but has not visited the winner's enclosure since for Richard Price. He has yet to score in 12 starts over hurdles, but has shown bits and pieces of form at this level, enough to suggest that he can reach the frame again. Bachelors Pad has won twice over timber, but the last occasion was two years ago, and Sue Wilton's charge never seems to find anything near the finish. All in all, Lord Alyn has been found an easy opportunity to get back to winning ways.
