In depth

Verdict

Having found one too good in each of his three previous starts in bumper-company Mister Flint is taken to finally open his account, with Material World and Kingscote Thunder expected to fight out minor placings. The selection is progressing with each outing and may have met a decent rival when second to Native Ivy at Uttoxeter recently. With stamina guaranteed, the Philip Hobbs-trained gelding is taken to go one better at the main expense of Kingscote Thunder. Noel Chance's gelding was highly tried on his first two starts in bumper-company when down the field in races won by Lord Sam and Rhinestone Cowboy and appreciated the drop in class when winning at Chepstow last time. He will find things more difficult under a penalty today though as will Material World, a winner of his only start at Market Rasen. Dark Whisper, a four-year-old son of Ali-Royal from the in form stable of Ian Williams makes most appeal of the newcomers.
