Richard Philips can normally be relied upon to unleash the odd bumper winner or two, and so Wimbledonian may be up to making a successful debut, with Petite Margot best of the exposed talent on view. Wimbledonian is extremely well bred, being a son of Sir Harry Lewis out of an Ardross mare, so stamina will not be a problem. Sure to have been well schooled, he can make an immediate impact before going hurdling. Petite Margot's yard normally have a few bumper winners as well, and judging by her fourth at Worcester, she should be capable of paying her way. There is no doubt that she has the pedigree to be a potential top-class timber-topper, being by Champion Hurdler Alderbrook out of a daughter of the great Monksfield, himself a legend at Cheltenham. it would be no surprise if she scored here, but Wimbledonian may be sharp enough at the first time of asking and is the selection.
