A very open contest and after a lot of head stratching we have given the vote to Sundawn Lady, with Canavan and Temper Lad and Mill Bank all worthy dangers. The selection has been in consistent form all season and ran another solid race last time when fifth behind Harbour View over course and distance last time. She is still a maiden but this looks her easiest race so far and she is a tentative choice. Canavan chased home Longstone Lass at Sedgefield last time and should be in the shake up despite the steadier of twelve stone three. Mill Bank reverts to hurdling following an easy win over fences last time and should go close from a decent mark. Meanwhile Temper Lad can be given a chance on his Newton Abbot victory in the summer. All in all a very tough contest to assess, but Sundawn Lady has strong claims and just gets the nod.
