In depth

Verdict

This has attracted a decent entry with the weights headed by The Tourard Man, who seeks a five-timer. The 10-year-old is a stout stayer but may be biting off more than can he chew today, though was well clear of Fort Worth at Worcester in June. Belmount won a shade cosily at Newton Abbot last month and is only 5lb higher while Purple 'n Gold was only beaten a length at Fontwell last Sunday, though has another mile to cover here. The penny dropped with NO NO MAC in May and he won easily at Market Rasen and Towcester. This is his stiffest task to date over fences but he's worth following until beaten. With fitness assured, Hexham scorer Dursey Sound may be the pick of the remainder.
