Jupon Vert has gone close on numerous occasions this year and can gain an overdue success today, Nagano and Madison de Vonnas could provide most danger. The Ron Hodges trained nine-year-old is hardly getting any respite from the handicapper but this is a pretty weak affair. He goes on any ground and he can regain the winning thread. Nagano came a cropper at Leicester last time after returning from a two month break. His form in December was pretty good in the context of this event and if none the worse for that fall he should be in the shake up. Madison de Vonnas finished behind the selection at Huntingdon last time out and as it was his chase debut he could improve and he has to be a big threat. Of the others Scotch Corner cannot be ruled out on the pick of his form, but Jupon Vert is one of the more consistent runners in the field and he gets a narrow vote.
