Diamond Fort had Tarrona behind when third in Strong Pursuit’s race here last month but was beaten more than 20 lengths himself. It will be interesting to see how Flat convert Subcontinent copes with heavy ground as all of his victories on the level were on a fast surface. ICE COOL CHAMPS met interference when favourite for a Warwick bumper at the end of December but kept on well for second and that experience will not have been lost on Philip Hobbs’ gelding, who is jumps-bred. None of the others make much appeal.
