Buzzin'boyzee, King Alfie and Spitzensparkes are the three for the shortlist here and the vote is given to the last mentioned. The selection is a lightly-raced filly but she has shown enough on her three runs to date to make her the one to beat here. She ran well when a close fourth behind Song Huntress at Beverley last time and if she can improve again for that effort then she should be thereabouts at the finish. Buzzin'boyzee was really disappointing at Wolverhampton last time and after showing promise on her first two outings she still has plenty to prove at present. King Alfie will be suited by the return to this faster surface after a below-par effort on unsuitable ground last time. He had previously shown enough in two runs at Doncaster to make him interesting here and he is respected. Global Guardian stepped-up on his debut at Brighton last time but he was still well-beaten and he will need to show significant improvement to get competitive today. We are therefore happy to stick with Spitzensparkes as our idea of the winner.
