In depth

Verdict

A very interesting race for a number of reasons and plenty of the field can be given chances on the pick of their form. However, Always Rainbows is given a chance to redeem himself after a poor display on his reappearance and the son of Rainbows for Life is given the vote as a value selection. There are dangers a plenty though, not least Gold Cup runner-up Truckers tavern, who won his only previous start over fences with ease on his racecourse debut three years ago. However, he is a big and bulky sort and the likelihood is that he will need this to put him straight for a proposed visit to Ireland next week. Water Sport is respected as an improving type after three easy victories in minor company and is entitled to bid for further glory here. However, this is a much tougher assignment and she is opposable on the balance of form for today. Hidden Bounty and The Phair Crier hail from in-form yards and are worthy of a small investment if they are supported, but so too is Always Rainbows and he is given the vote to bounce back to his best at the likely prices.
