Richard Hannon's Angel's Pursuit is bound to be popular with backers following his winning reappearance at Newbury in this grade 15 days ago but he has a penalty to carry for that success and is unlikely to find this as easy so preference is for QUARREL, who gets the vote with Mister Manannan rated the best of the rest. The selection is trained by William Haggas and makes his reappearance today having shown decent form in three starts as a juvenile, winning his first two outings before being far from disgraced when a close third to Awzaan in the Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury and, provided that he has trained on, he looks the one to beat. Henry Cecil's Corporal Maddox was very disappointing behind Angel's Pursuit at Newbury, while David Simcock's Layla's Hero has shown better form on a softer surface than this. The ground should be ideal for the David Nicholls-trained Mister Manannan, who should appreciate the return to this grade having been outclassed in a group 3 at Longchamp recently and he has every chance but a better bet looks to be Quarrel.
