Verdict
An interesting opener can go to LAST DESTINATION, with Philharmonic Hall and Marina Belle likely to emerge as the best of the newcomers. Our pick put up the best effort of any of these to have seen a racecourse so far when just edged out of it over course and distance earlier in the month. He should have no problems with these conditions if his pedigree is any guide and he can go one better today. Philharmonic Hall is a half-brother to a multiple sprint winner, including as a juvenile, and represents powerful connections who have a decent strike rate with their two-year-olds here. On that basis he is much respected and could go very well. Trainer Mark Johnston has a 28 per cent ratio with his juveniles on the Westwood and so Marina Belle has to firmly enter calculations, especially being related to winners at this age and with the yard back-in-form. Blind Stag and Ice Trooper could both show improvement and a market check is advised, but Last Destination is the one for us.
