An open contest where the tentative selection is FLYING SILKS, with Shadowtime and By Command among those with claims. Tracy Waggot's Shadowtime was allowed to dominate and went close to winning at Thirsk a couple of starts ago, but when having to drop in back there last time he was well beaten. He does not have a bad draw here and if Andrew Mullen can get him prominent then he would have every chance. By Command has the ability for this and represents a yard going very well, though he would want the rains to come to have his best chance. Ninth House has a wide draw to contend with but is well handicapped if he can cope with that, while Nuit Sombre does get a good draw and is very well in on his best form, though he has been on the slide for some time and is hard to trust. Flying Silks is unproven on the ground, but that aside he looks perhaps the one with most scope for improvement in this field, he sees out this trip well, and with the yard coming good he can build on his pipe opener and win today.
