Dominic Ffrench Davis’ string has made a lightning-fast start to the new Turf campaign but Maxident clearly handled the mud better than his two opponents on debut at Leicester. If Not Now also made a winning start to his career at Salisbury last year while Knockbrex made all over 1m2f at Pontefract earlier this month, though the latter pair are also penalised. GREGORY is bred for this sort of trip being by the brilliant Golden Horn out of Park Hill winner Gretchen. His half-brother Lionel won a Derby trial at Goodwood last year and Rab Havlin’s mount can make a winning debut.
