Desert Master is sure to prove popular after his debut second at Ripon with Ryan Moore booked. He's a key player but both SPANISH PHOENIX and Old Chums shaped with plenty of promise first time up and the former is preferred after doing well to finish fourth after an erratic stalls exit and then not settling too well. He should have learnt a great deal from the experience and should prove more streetwise now. Old Chums - a fair sixth in the Brocklesby - is respected, whilst both John Steed and Too Much Trevor represent yards capable of readying one first time and the market should reflect expectations on their respective debuts.
