GREAT HALL (NAP) is one of two course and distance winners and, though it's a while since he last won, his close third from a 3lb higher mark in York's John Smith's Silver Cup gives him an outstanding chance here. Gabrial's Star is the other to have won over track and trip but his best form appears to be with some give in the ground. Number One London returned to form at Carlisle while Dashing Star has been performing with credit in better company and looks certain to be in the shake-up despite his big weight. Luca Cumani tries blinkers on Sir Walter Scott after disappointing at Doncaster and his earlier run in the Ebor points to his chances if they have the desired effect. Glenard is another in good form and the progressive Aramist could go well at a big price.
