River Rye, Abbey Steps and Toledo Gold make most appeal in this nursery handicap and the vote is given to RIVER RYE. The selection did not appear to handle the soft ground at Doncaster last time when she finished down the field in quite a hot race. Prior to that she had been in decent form and she looks to have been found a good opportunity to get her head in front. The slight drop in trip and this faster ground will aid her cause. Abbey Steps did not run his race last time when he trailed in last at Ripon, but he had previously shown solid enough form in maiden company and he remains unexposed. Toledo Gold has plenty of scope for improvement and the easy ground did not suit him last time. The form of his previous Redcar maiden win has worked out well so back on a sound surface today he has to enter calculations. The booking of Jamie Spencer for Dark Lane catches the eye and he could be one to note in the market, but for the winner we will stick with River Rye.
