In depth

Verdict

Firmament is an old favourite last seen on Turf finishing second in a big field at Doncaster off this mark. He won at York last year and can never be ignored in races of this nature. Admirality was very unlucky not to win a race last season but Marshal Dan has the more recent form having just failed to hold the rallying Eton College at Musselburgh. Placed in a Group 3 as a juvenile, Persuasion ran in the 2000 Guineas last year and looked to be finding some form again at Leicester in the autumn. Gobi Sunset and Duesenberg have been in good form on Tapeta but this can go to DREAMLOPER. Progressive in his first season, winning at Redcar and Ascot, he will have conditions in his favour on his reappearance and looks well drawn in stall three with a likely strong pace another plus.
