The fast ground here will really suit BALDUCCI and he is taken to land this decent prize, with High Twelve and Our Joe Mac others short-listed. It is hard to keep the Fahey-Hanagan team quiet for long, and they combine here with Our Joe Mac, who was just nosed out of it over this trip at Chester, for which he has risen 6lbs. The three-year-old is still open to further improvement, however, and he is sure to be spot on for this, so he is respected. High Twelve is another with strong claims now dropped in the weights after being comfortably beaten by Quadrille at Newmarket. Trip and ground suit and he has to have a live chance. Rakaan is stepped up to this trip for the first time and will relish conditions, while dual Polytrack winner Ginger Jack races from an 8lb higher mark than when last seen scoring at Lingfield in February, and with the stable quiet enough we can take him on. The ground looks quick enough for top weight No Hubris, though it should be fine for Unshakable Will, who is interesting upped in distance. Even so, the standout horse here is Balducci. Andrew Balding has entered him for the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot, and he thinks he will run a big race there. That alone entitles him to be in the thick of it here, and to have gone up just 3lbs for his runner-up berth in a very hot Newmarket handicap last time, he looks very much the one to side with today.
