Graham Lee has picked up an excellent ride for Godolphin on board BANNOCK, who will be at very prohibitive odds despite not winning since 2011. He's been placed at Listed and Group level on several occasions subsequently and though not seen since Meydan in February looks in a different league. Set The Trend is rated 8lb lower and has to concede 8lb so will find this very difficult though he's been going well on the fast ground and looks the main threat. Magic Destiny beat three rivals at Ayr last time and has won twice here in the past though both times on soft ground while Bix looks completely outclassed.
Set The Trend 7-1 (9-7) Held up mid-division, headway over 1f out, soon challenged, ridden entering final furlong, soon led, headed inside final furlong, no extra towards finish, 5th of 9, 2l behind Capaill Liath (8-9) at Ayr 1m hcp 0-105 (2) gf in Jun.
Bannock (IRE) 7-1 (9-1) 11th of 12, 10l behind Anaerobio (8-9) at Meydan(UAE) 7f hcp gd in Feb.
Bix (IRE) 200-1 (8-7) Tracked leading pair until over 3f out, soon outpaced, last of 4, 25l behind Galician (9-4) at Hamilton 1m grd stk (3) gd.
Magic Destiny 6-5fav (9-4) Tracked leaders, squeezed through between horses going very well over 2f out, led on bit over 1f out, very easy, won at Ayr 7f fll hcp (0-85) (4yo+) (4) gf beating Jeannie Galloway (8-11) by 2l, 4 ran.
